Description

General description

Tenax porous polymer materials, based on 2,6-diphenyl-p-phenylene oxide, is widely used as an adsorbent in both air collection and purge trap applications. Its unique structure provides alternate and desirable adsorption/desorption characteristics compared to other porous polymers.

Other Notes

The optimal temperature for Tenax porous polymer materials depends on the application. For example, thermal desorption unit (TDU) tubes are typically desorbed at 300 °C, and purge traps containing Tenax typically use a 180 °C desorption temperature. Footnote

Tenax GR is a composite material containing 70% Tenax TA and 30% graphite carbon.
