Chemistry of Advanced Materials: An Overview 

Advanced materials are substances such as composites (tennis rackets are graphite composites), super alloys (used in the aerospace industry) and advanced ceramics (used in semi-conductors, superconductors in the levitating bullet train, and tiles in the space shuttle.) This is the first volume in a new series, Chemistry of Advanced Materials, devoted to providing a broad perspective on materials chemistry and helping scientists and engineers understand the importance of chemistry in material science and engineering.
