OX-42 Cell Line from murine myeloma 

A hybridoma producted by the fusion of mouse NSO/U and splenocytes from mouse immunized with resident peritoneal cells from (PVG-RT1c X PVG-RT1u)F1 and (PVG-RT X DA-RT1a)F1 rats.

Recommended culture medium: RPMI-1640 + 2 mM L-Glutamine + 10% FBS

Seed cultures at 5x10⁴ viable cells/ml. Subcultures at approx. 5x10⁶, typically after 3-4 days from initiation. Incubate cultures at 37°C and 5% CΟ₂.

The antibody produced by this cell line, an IgG2a isoform, recognizes rat CD11. All peritoneal macrophages and 35% of alveolar macrophages are reactive. The antibody affects the function of complement receptor CR3. It immunoprecipitates 3 polypeptides: 160 kDa, 130 kDa, and 95 kDa. The antibody also reacts with granulocytes and dendritic cells.
