Application

COS-1 is derived from CV-1 simian cells transformed by origin-defective mutant of SV40 which codes for wild-type T Ag. Possible host for propagation of pure populations of recombinant SV40 virus. These cells should be handled under laboratory containment level 2.

Subculture: Split at 70-80% confluency, approx. 1:3 to 1:6 (2-4 × 10⁴ cells/cm²). Trypsinize using 0.25% solution, with or without EDTA, 37 °C and 5% CO₂. Do not allow cells to reach confluence.
