Application
Established from tumor ascites induced in male mouse by IP injection of Abselon Leukemia Virus (A-MuLV). Cells will pinocytose neutral red and phagocytose zymosan. Cells capable of antibody dependent lysis of sheep erythrocytes and tumor targets. Expect lysozyme production. Growth inhibited by LPS, 0.5 ng/ml.
Subculture: Split at 70-80% confluency, approx. 1:2 to 1:8, seed at 2-4 × 104 viable cells/cm2 at 37 oC and 5% CO2. Remove cells mechanically. Cells are semiadherent and some will become attached to culture surface and have a 'flattened' appearance. Cells should not be allowed to reach confluence as this can lead to loss of the flattened adherent cell characteristic.
Recommended culture medium: DMEM + 2 mM L-Glutamine + 10% FBS.
