Activin Receptor IA human

Activin receptor IA/Fc chimera does not bind directly to activin or inhibin but will associate with the type II receptor-activin complex and initiate signal transduction. Activin isoforms are members of the TGF-β superfamily that bind to heteromeric complexes of type I and type II serine/threonine kinase receptors, both of which are essential for signal transduction. Human, murine, and bovine type IA activin receptors demonstrate greater than 98% homology.
