Biochem/physiol Actions

Synthetic endogenous peptide agonist for the human APJ receptor, a putative receptor protein related to the angiotensin receptor (AT₁). This peptide exerted an acidification-rate-promoting activity in CHO cells expressing the APJ receptor with a median effective concentration (EC₅₀) value of 0.37 nM. Blocks HIV-1 and HIV-2 entry into cells expressing the APJ receptor.
