General description
Although angiogenesis-formation of new blood vessels from pre-existing ones-has emerged as a target for the treatment of many disorders, fundamental aspects remain poorly understood. To address those needs, this book is a collection of key techniques for assessing the formation of new blood vessels in both whole tissue and cell culture. The methods range from low-cost in vitro assays to cutting-edge in vivo models. Included are details of the associated techniques for the isolation, identification, and culture of microvessel endothelial cells from human adipose tissues, and for the transfection and transduction of primary human endothelial tissues.
