Analysis Note
Specifically measures both phosphorylated and non-phosphorylated forms of EGFR with a sensitivity of <0.08 ng/mL, which is 10 times more sensitive than immunoblotting.
Application
Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor ELISA detects total EGFR in cell lysates.
Biochem/physiol Actions
EGFR, a member of the family of receptor tyrosine kinases, is a full length, type I transmembrane glycoprotein. In vivo phosphorylation of EGFR specific tyrosine sites, including Tyr1173 or Tyr1068, activates EGFR and downstream molecules.
Features and Benefits
EGFR ELISAs are fast (total time 4 hours), sensitive, and specific assays. The kit contains precoated plates, all incubations proceed at room temperature, and no proprietary equipment is required.
