Analysis Note
Specifically measures human EGFR protein phosphorylated on tyrosine 1068 with a sensitivity of <0.3 units/mL, which is 8 times more sensitive than immunoblotting. Does not detect non-phosphorylated EGFR.
Application
phospho-Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor (pTyr1068) ELISA detects EGFR phosphorylated at tyrosine 1068 in cell lysates and biological fluids.
Biochem/physiol Actions
EGFR, a member of the family of receptor tyrosine kinases, is a full length, type I transmembrane glycoprotein. In vivo phosphorylation of EGFR specific tyrosine sites, including Tyr1173 or Tyr1068, activates EGFR and downstream molecules.
Features and Benefits
EGFR ELISAs are fast (total time 4 hours), sensitive, and specific assays. The kit contains precoated plates, all incubations proceed at room temperature, and no proprietary equipment is required.
