Analysis Note
The sensitivity is <1 ng/mL, which is as sensitive as immunoblotting. No cross-reactivity is shown with p38, p53, and Akt. The assay has 100% cross-reactivity with Fyn, but not Lyn.
Application
Src ELISA detects and quantifies the level of human Src protein independent of its phosphorylation state from lysates of cells. It can be used to normalize the Src content of the samples when examining quantities of phosphorylated sites on Src using Phospho-Src [pTyr418] ELISA (CS0460).
Src ELISA is designed to detect and quantify human Src protein. c-Src (pp60c-src), the cellular homolog of the Rous sarcoma virus protein v-Src, is the protein product of the c-src proto-oncogene. Src localizes to the cytoplasm, plasma membrane, focal adhesions, and cadherin-containing cell junctions. Functions include cell adhesion and migration, enhancement of cell survival, and regulation of cell division.
Features and Benefits
This assay is a fast (total time 4 hours), sensitive, and specific alternative to immunoblotting and RIA. The ease of run is facilitated by precoated plates, ready-to-use reagents, and incubation at room temperature.
