Glycogen Synthase Kinase 3β, Histidine-tagged from rabbit 

Glycogen synthase kinase-3 is a serine-threonine protein kinase involved in regulation of metabolic enzymes such as glycogen synthase and ATP-citrate lyase, and of protein phosphatase-1. It also phosphorylates brain tau-proteins, inducing an Alzheimer-like state, and protooncogene transcription factors. GSK-3β is one of two isozymes.

Reconstitution to 100 μl with deionized water produces a solution in 20 mM Tris, pH 7.5, 2 mM EDTA, 2 mM EGTA, 1 mM DTT, 5% sucrose, 0.1% Brij^® 35, 1 μg/ml leupeptin, and 0.1 mM AEBSF.

One unit will transfer one pmole of phosphate from ATP to phosphatase inhibitor 2 per min at pH 7.5 at 30 °C.
