Galectin-3C human 

Recombinant galectin-3C competes with endogenous galactin-3 for carbohydrate binding sites and acts as a negative inhibitor of galectin-3¹ in promoting cell adhesion² and cell signaling. Galectin-3C has been found to be effective in reducing metastases and tumor volumes and weights in primary tumors in an orthotopic nude mouse model of human breast cancer.³

Galectin-3 is a family member of animal lectins, which selectively binds ß-galactoside residues. Galectin-3C is a truncated form of galectin-3 that contains the carboxy-terminus carbohydrate binding domain. This truncation reduces the ability of the peptide to form self-associate.²

The product is lyophilized with 200 μg of lactose as stabilizer per 100 μg vial of galectin-3C.
