Immunogen

synthetic peptide corresponding to the hinge region of human matrix metalloproteinase-15.

Specificity

Recognizes native and reduced MMP-15. By immunoblotting against the reduced protein, the antibody identifies bands at 72 kDa and 55 kDa, as well as activation/breakdown products at 48 kDa. Often MMP-15 is fully activated and the 48 kDa band is the dominant band seen. Upon activation, MMP-15 may be shed into the culture media and it is unclear if the shed form is proteolytically active.

Physical form

Solution in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline containing 50% glycerol and 0.05% sodium azide.
