Application
Neutral Southern transfer, denaturing solution is a strong base that denatures double-stranded DNA so that it can be efficiently transferred to nylon membrane and subsequently hybridized to labeled probe. When utilized in conjunction with Depurination Solution, treatment with this solution results in the hydrolysis of the phosphodiester backbone at the sites of depurination, allowing for more efficient transfer of large DNA in neutral Southern transfers.
