Platelet-Derived Endothelial Cell Growth Factor human 

The proliferative activity of human PD-ECGF is measured in culture by using human umbilical vein endothelial cells.

Platelet-derived endothelial cell growth factor is a 45 kDa endothelial cell mitogen of pI 4.0-4.8 originally purified from human platelets. PD-ECGF is chemotactic for bovine aortic endothelial cells, however it does not induce smooth muscle cell migration. PD-ECGF is involved in angiogenesis and has potent angiogenic activity both in the developing vascular system of the chick chorioalantoic membrane and vascularization of tumor cells in nude mice. PD-ECGF is highly expressed in some tumors.

Lyophilized from a 0.2 μm filtered solution in phosphate buffered saline containing 0.5 mg bovine serum albumin.
