Application

Kinase activity is measured as the molar amount of phosphate incorporated into the CREBtide substrate peptide per minute per mg protein at 30 °C using a final concentration of 50 μM [³²P] ATP.

Biochem/physiol Actions

PKCι is a member of the protein kinase C family of serine-threonine kinases. Overexpression of PKCι increases the resistance of cells to apoptosis, improves mitochondrial function and reduces activity of caspases. PKCλ plays a prominent role in regulation of glucose-induced insulin secretion.

Physical form

Solution of 5 μg in 50 mM Tris-HCl, pH 7.5, 150 mM NaCl, 0.25 mM DTT, 0.1 mM EGTA, 0.1mM EDTA, 0.1 mM PMSF, and 25% glycerol.
