Antigen Background
CD45 leukocyte common antigen (LCA) family, which comprises at least four isoforms of membrane glycoproteins (220, 205, 190, 180 kDa) present on cells of the leukocyte lineage. These molecules, the intracellular portion of which have protein phosphatase activity, are involved in the regulation of transmembrane signals and enzymatic activation. CD45 is largely restricted to leukocytes.
Immunogen
non-T, non-B CALLA positive, and ALL cell line REH.
Preparation Note
Prepared by conjugation to R-phycoerythrin (PE). This orange-red dye is efficiently excited at 488 nm and emits at 578 nm.
Specificity
Recognizes the CD45 leukocyte common antigen (LCA) family. The CD45 antibody is therefore useful in distinguishing lymphomas from carcinomas. The epitope recognized by the antibody is sensitive to formalin fixation and paraffin embedding.
