General description
A complete irradiating system for crosslinking nucleic acids to nylon or nitrocellulose membranes, nicking EtBr-stained DNA in agarose gels, thymine dimer formation, recA mutation screening, elimination of PCR contaminants and other applications. Samples are contained within a large stainless steel chamber with a UV-blocking viewing window. Irradiation protocols can be time- or energy-programmed. The energy program is microprocessor controlled; a UV-sensing and feedback system automatically compensates for output variation and tube aging.
External dimensions: 30.5 × 36 × 35 cm (H × D × W)
Chamber dimensions: 14.5 × 33 × 26 cm (H × D × W)
UV source: 5 × 8 W, 254 nm tubes
Exposure ranges: 0-999.9 min., 0-9.999 J/cm2, 0-99.99 J/cm2
Controls: tactile membrane keypad with LED readout.
There is an internal safety interlock; power cord is removable.
