KDS Ultraspense 2000 dispenser 

KD Scientific’s UltraSpense 2000 delivers a highly uniform distribution of live cells into 384 well microplates when compared to conventional peristaltic dispensers. Seeding density variability across the plate is tighter on the UltraSpense than on peristaltic dispensers. The assay was performed with CHO, Hek293 and Cos-7 cells. There is no edge effect and no drippage (drops sticking to the manifold tips) normally found with conventional peristaltic units. The net result is that the accuracy of seeding is much improved with the use of the Ultraspense, leading to more reliable results.
UltraSpense 2000 eliminates many problems experienced with peristaltic dispensers by using a specially designed manifold that uniformly distributes material to all 8 tips. This is combined with a proprietary algorithm to handle the pumping that overcomes the natural tendency for fluids to accumulate on the outside of the manifold tips. In addition, without the potential for uneven tubing wear associated with peristaltic rollers, UltraSpense 2000 maintains its consistent performance after millions of dispense cycle.The positive displacement pump in the UltraSpense 2000 has only 1 moving part. This delivers inherently greater accuracy and consistent volumes across a wide range of viscosities with high reliability. The improved technology is simple to use and saves in operating and maintenance costs. With the savings compared to peristaltic pumps being so significant, UltraSpense 2000 can pay for itself in as little as 12 months.
