A neuropeptide that has substantial sequence homology to vasoactive intestinal peptide (VIP). Both VIP and PACAP-38 are equipotent at the VCAP-2 receptor, while PACAP-38 is equipotent to PACAP-27 and more potent than VIP at the PAC-1 receptor.
