Refractive Index (RI) is of critical importance for applications such as optical waveguides, LCD displays, anti-reflective coatings, and ophthalmic devices.1,2 Polymeric-based low- and high- RI materials offer ease of processing, light weight, and insensitivity to mechanical stress advantages over their inorganic counterparts. Sigma-Aldrich® offers a range of high RI polymers based on aromatic and brominated aromatic monomers, as well as low refractive polymers based on fluorinated monomers. For a complete selection of functional monomers, please refer to Polymer Science section of the catalog.
