Benefits of Sensor Dyes
Chemical sensors Miniaturized analytical devices that deliver real-time and online information about the presence of specific compounds or ions in complex samples. Optical sensors Based on measurement of either intrinsic optical properties of analytes, or of optical properties of indicator dyes or labeled biomolecules attached to solid supports. Measurable signal changes require complete mass transfer from sample into sensor membrane. Biosensors Affinity biosensors - Thermodynamic equilibrium and based on the capability of enzymes to convert "substrates" into products. Catalytic biosensors - No thermodynamic equilibrium. DNA-based sensors - Usually segments of DNA fragments tested for identity or modification. |
