Imidazopyridines

Imidazopyridines are another class of bioisostere of the indole moiety, and also serve as effective purine mimics. Imidazopyridine-containing compounds have found recent applications as GABAA receptor agonists and proton pump inhibitors. The presence of a halogen allows these reagents to be used as substrates in various coupling reactions, including Suzuki-Miyaura cross-coupling reactions.
