Hydrazides are a class of organic compounds characterized by a nitrogen-nitrogen covalent bond with four substituents with at least one of them being an acyl group. The development of new hydrazide derivatives is inspired by the hydrazone class of compounds possessing anticonvulsant, antioxidant, hormone antagonist, analgesic, anti-inflammatory, antiplatelet, antimalarial, antimicrobial, antimycobacterial, antitumor, vasodilator, antiviral and antitrypanosomal activities.
