Phoxime Resin

Phoxime resin is a novel, air-stable, easily handled polymer-bound phosgene equivalent. Unlike typical chloroformates, little to no decomposition was observed on prolonged exposure to air.6 Heat-labile polymer-bound oxime carbamate intermediates synthesized from the addition of isocyanates to Phoxime resin have been shown to liberate latent isocyanates upon thermolysis. The subsequent addition of amines to solution affords ureas in excellent yields and high chemical purity.6 The graph below illustrates the temperature dependence on the urea formation.7
