13C-labeled Acyl Coenzyme A Derivatives

Coenzyme A plays an important role in lipid biosynthesis, catabolic/oxidation processes and enzyme regulation. Coenzyme A is a key cofactor that aids in transferring acyl groups during enzymatic reactions. Researchers use isotopic tracer methods to study the kinetics of acyl coenzyme A activity. For example, a recent paper demonstrates a sensitive, accurate and precise method for the quantification of long chain acyl coenzyme A concentrations and enrichment using  13C16-palmitoyl coenzyme A as a tracer.(1) Radiolabeled acyl coenzyme A is also used in developing assays to quantify or measure enzymatic activity. An article describes an efficient purification method for coenzyme A using radiolabeled 14C-acyl coenzyme A.(2) On the other hand, another paper illustrates the use of 13C-malonyl coenzyme A to measure the activity of malonyl coenzyme decarboxylase (3) in an effort to offer a safer, nonradioactive and sensitive method.

  Coenzyme A

Until now, researchers had to rely on synthesizing their desired 13C-labeled acyl coenzyme A or use radiolabeled 14C-coenzyme A to perform their experiments. With increased interest in isotopically labeled coenzyme A tracers, we now offer a range of short-, medium- and long chain 13C-acyl coenzyme A products for your convenience. As a leader in the stable isotope industry, we are the first to provide this unique range of 13C-acyl coenzyme A products with the highest isotopic enrichment and purity to our customers.
