Global Raw Materials Vendor Management Program

Global Raw Materials Vendor Management Program

SAFC Supply Chain and Supplier Quality Management teams work in a coordinated effort to support the
sourcing and management of our Global Raw Material Management Program, ensuring the program is
robust, controlled and provides sustainable consistent material supply.

Global Supplier Quality

Reducing variability and ensuring the safety, quality and performance or raw materials used for further manufacturing of cell culture media is our top priority. The team uses rigorous procedures to generate a Qualified Raw Materials list. Only materials on this list are used in our cGMP manufacturing facilities.

The Global Supplier Quality team uses a risk-based approach to assess quality and manage the materials, manufacturers and suppliers. Customers can be confident having access to documentation that shows transparency of source materials, process and country of origin.   Raw Material Characterization
The SAFC Raw Material Characterization program provides a scientific basis for raw material specifications and is linked to the Global Supplier Quality Vendor Management Program supporting development of specifications, change notifications, and investigations. Included within the program is our Trace Element Initiative aimed at studying trace metal impurities in cell culture media due to the component supply chain.
