Conditions

sample/matrix 25 g milk thistle honey in a 200 mL Erlenmeyer flask at 45 C, purged with nitrogen at 60 mL/min for 30 min as a stripping gas to collect onto a Tenax(R) TA tube
dry purge back-flushed with nitrogen, 60 mL/min at room temperature for 5 min
thermal desorption tube 20/35 Tenax(R) TA, 90 mg
desorption process helium, 10 mL/min at 280 °C for 10 min to cryofocus onto a glass-lined tube at -120 °C, which was subsequently heated to 240 °C for transfer to the GC column
column SUPELCOWAX 10, 30 m x 0.25 mm I.D., 0.25 µm (24079)
oven 35 C (8 min), 6 C/min to 60 °C, 4 °C/min to 160 °C, 20 °C/min to 200 °C (1 min)
carrier gas helium, 1 mL/min
transfer line/valve temp. 250 °C, transfer line directly coupled to the GC column using a press-fit connector
MSD interface 230 °C
scan range 35-300 m/z
