Sample preparation:
In a 250-ml glass beaker dissolve about 100 mg of the sample in a mixture of 5 ml hydrochloric acid 37 % and
1 ml nitric acid 65 %. To prevent a splashing loss the glass beaker has to be covered with a clock glass. Then evaporate the solution to a moist crystalline residue. Dissolve this residue in water for analysis, transfer it into a 100-ml volumetric flask, fill up to volume and mix.
 
Analysis:
Determine with the above mentioned test kits.
 
Calculation:

Iron content in % = analysis value in mg/l Fe x 10
weight of sample in mg
