Sample preparation:
In a 100 ml of standard volumetric flask mix 90 ml of the sample solution (pH 6 - 7) with 2 ml each Carrez solution-1 and -2 and fill up to volume. Filter off the occuring deposit through a folded filter and adjust the clear, light yellow filtrate to pH 3 using sulfuric acid 25 % for analysis (check with pH-indicator strips).
 
Analysis:
Determine with the above mentioned test kits.
 
Calculation:
Nitrite content in mg/l NO2 = analysis value in mg/l NO2
