Sample preparation:
In a 1000-ml standard volumetric flask dissolve about 0.5 g of the sample, dried to constant weight at 105 °C, with water for analysis and fill up to volume.
 
Analysis:
Determine with the above mentioned test kits.
 
Calculation:

Nitrite content in % NaNO2 =    analysis value in mg/l NO2 x 150
weight of sample in mg
