Test for Quality Indicator Organisms

Quality Indicator

A food scandal or product recall is detrimental for Food Industry, their consumers and Brand. And for that understanding, Food companies are committed to continuously improve the test parameters of their facilities and products.

One parameter that exemplifies this commitment is Quality Indicator Organisms. They indicate potential hazards to the finished products. Which can lead to product recall and others.

The Food industry interprets the Quality Indicator Organism different levels like

  • Used as index Organism, which indicates presence of pathogens.
  • Indicates hygiene level and proper sanitation practices in their production facilities which includes production equipment and Environmental samples namely water and surfaces.
  • Indicates the Quality of the product during post production.
  • Marker for fecal contamination.
  • Indicates the presence of spoilage and organisms.

There are different ways to test for Quality Indicator Organism.

The Gold Standard in Traditional Microbiology Testing Our Granulated Dehydrated Culture Granucult™

For Food Manufacturers that adhere to the regulatory compliance of the International Standard Organization (ISO), our ReadyPlate™ and ReadyTube™ Ready-to-Use (RtU) Culture Media are the product of Choice.

Aside from the convenient and no time-consuming preparation, Safe testing at the maximum convenience and high reproducibility with low error rate. Our ReadyPlate™ and ReadyTube™ are fully compliant with EN ISO 11133:2014 and released through by an ISO/IEC 17025:2005 accredited Laboratory. This enables our customers to reduce their incoming Quality Control (QC) test. Our ReadyPlate™ and ReadyTube™ truly makes your COMPLIANCE MADE EASY.

Or what if you could use fewer handling steps for your indicator organism testing, without compromising your results? Enumeration and detection of microbial contamination in food and beverage products is key but can be time consuming and complex. Streamline your workflow by trying our new color-coded MC-Media Pads for rapid and convenient microbial testing. Compliant with international food and beverage standards (AOAC/Microval), this media method can be used for convenient microbiological testing for E.coli, Yeast and Mold, Coliform, Staphylococcus aureus, or aerobic microbial contamination. The clear color coding means that you will always pick the right one at a glance.

Even for very complex matrices testing can be simple using SimPlate®, which provides rapid, easy to interpret results even with food and environmental matrices that are challenging for other rapid methods. The SimPlate® system with Binary Detection Technology™ represents the latest technological advancement in counting techniques for the food industry.  SimPlate® positive and negative counts are read visually, without the need for subjective interpretation, which provides consistency across users, generating more reproducible results. The SimPlate® device confines samples to isolation wells, minimizing the effects of swarming bacteria and spreading molds that can mask accurate counts.

SimPlate® tests have been validated by international standards (AOAC / MicroVal) and are available for the detection of Enterobacteriaceae, Total Plate Counts, Coliforms & E. coli and Yeasts & Molds

ColiComplete® is a patented substrate supporting disc method containing both XGAL and MUG. It is designed to simultaneously detect Total Coliforms and E. coli in food products. The Beta-galactosidase enzyme produced by coliforms reacts with the chromogenic XGAL substrate to produce a visually detectable insoluble blue dye. The Beta-glucuronidase enzyme found in E. coli reacts with the MUG substrate to produce a blue fluorescent reaction under long wave UV light.  ColiComplete provides confirmed quantitative E. coli results in as few as 28 hours and confirmed Total Coliforms result in 48 hours.

The Company’s Auxilliary products used in detection of various microorganisms.

The Anaerocult® product range includes systems for producing the anaerobic, microaerobic and capneic growth conditions that are required for anaerobiosis to cultivate anaerobes, microaerophiles and capnophiles organisms for the Food and Beverage industry.

The Anaerocult® products are based on components of the Reagent Mixture which reacts with water to chemically bind all or part of the atmospheric oxygen (O2) in a given volume of air and simultaneously releasing carbon dioxide (CO2).

The resulting growth environment is rich in carbon dioxide and either devoid of oxygen (anaerobic) or oxygen deficient (microaerobic/capneic). There are cost-efficient Anaerocult® products for all laboratory sizes.
