Basic Solution

Sigma-Aldrich offers a basic On-site Stock Solution in combination with a fridge or freezer, depending on what is needed. We will work with you and members of your team to identify what should be stocked and how much. Replenishment orders will be administered according to a agreed schedule to optimally meet your needs.

eScan: Intelligent Barcode Scanner Solution for your stock room
What is eScan?
A small, light, intelligent barcode scanner driving an automated order creation process. The scanner helps cut down your workload by automatically capturing product usage, and generating replenishment orders. In addition to product numbers and quantities, customer specific data such as cost-centres, grant-codes and employee I.D. , can be captured and reported on. You can create and download online usage reports to aid internal recharging.
How does it work?
1. Issuing stock
The mini scanner works in conjunction with a tablet or smart-phone (supplied by Sigma-Aldrich).
Step 1: the scanner is used to capture customer specific data such as user/lab/project/grant code etc.
Step 2: product barcodes are scanned, and product information is displayed on the tablet/smartphone.
Step 3: Quantities are amended before completing the transaction.
2. Communication with scanner portal
The tablet/smartphone connects to the internet via WiFi or 3G, and immediately posts transactions up to the scanner portal.
3. Replenishment
The scanner portal consolidates transactions into a daily or weekly order which is then delivered to your site.
4. Reporting
You can logon to the scanner portal to access and download reports, giving you full visibility of all transactions and orders.
