Protein of the Month

December: Ribonucleotide Reductase
Congratulations! Professor Rosanna del Gaudio, at University of Naples Federico II, suggested the winning favourite protein in the Online Quiz: Ribonucleotide reductase (RNR).
Prof. del Gaudio’s motivation: RNR catalyzes the formation of deoxyribonucleotides from ribonucleotides. The reaction serves to provide the precursors for DNA synthesis, and is conserved in all existing forms of Life on Earth.
Did you know? Isotope-labeled subgroups of RNR are available in the SILu™PrEST product line. The SILu™PrEST line is a line of heavy labeled multipeptide internal standards for Mass Spectrometry with a very broad coverage of the human genome.
