We always distinguish between shipping and stocking temperatures as in most of the cases they differ anyway. Sigma Aldrich has a lot of experience in production, handling and shipping of reagents of all kind. We dispatch our products all over the world in different climatic zones. We determinant the conditions how to ship each product as we can rely on our experiences. We guarantee quality in all times of the year. Whenever possible we ship products under room temperature in order to avoid extra charges for you for wet or dry ice shipments. All products which have to be shipped with dry or wet ice are marked in our catalogue. We also deliver products to you on wet or dry ice even if these products do not require this special transportation method under the condition that you will pay for it.
Independently from shipping instructions we set up the required stocking conditions for each item. These conditions are marked in the catalogue as well as on the label. The delivery time can be relatively short but the stocking period may be several years. Due to this reason the recommended stocking temperatures are far lower than the actual shipping temperatures.

The freight charges mentioned in our Proforma Invoices are always approx. as it is not possible to advice the weight / dimensions after packing in advance. Therefore the price for freight might slightly differ from time to time.

Only NONHAZARD products can be shipped by DHL. If a product is hazard you can find on our webside (go to "Advance Search" under "Safety") or in our catalogue. A UN number will be mentioned if a product is hazard. Please note that products which require to be shipped in Dry Ice can also not be shipped by DHL, as Dry Ice is classified as hazard. In this case we can check if it is possible to deliver the product with Wet Ice instead.
