PREPARATION

5% Ammonium Iron(III) Sulfate Solution
15 gAmmonium Iron(III) Sulfate, Dodecahydrate
300 mlDistilled or deionized water
Procedure: Dissolve the Ammonium Iron(III) Sulfate in the water. Mix on a stire late overnight to ensure complete dissolution.
Celestine Blue Solution
1.5 gSodium Phosphate Monobasic
6 mlSulfuric Acid
42 mlGlycerol, ACS
Procedure: Add the Celestine Blue to the 5% Ammonium Iron(III) Sulfate Solution and shake well in a flask. Boil for 3 minutes and allow to cool. Add the Sulfuric Acid and mix well. Add the Glycerol and mix well. Store in a brown bottle. Solution should be stable for several months.
Acid Alcohol
300 mlReagent Alcohol, 70%
6 mlHydrochloric Acid
Procedure: Add the Hydrochloric Acid to the Reagent Aclohol and mix well. Store at room temperature.
Alcoholic Eosin Y Solution
300 mlReagent Alcohol, 95%
1.5 gEosin Y, disodium salt, certified by the BSC
1.5 mlAcetic Acid, ACS Reagent
Procedure: Add the Eosin Y to the 95% Reagent Alcohol and mix 1-2 hours. Slowly add the Acetic Acid and mix overnight. Seal the mixing container with Parafilm while mixing overnight. Allow to age at least 2-3 days before use. Store at room temperature. Solution should be stable for several months.
