This KitAlysis™ High-Throughput Screening Kits video animation clearly illustrates the step by step process that enables any chemist to quickly and efficiently screen 24 unique cross-coupling reaction conditions. All required chemicals come preweighed for ease of use and the specially designed KitAlysis Labware allows you to set up the screen in your hood - no glove box required. Preparation

Set up your Inertion Box according to directions provided. Placement atop laboratory stir plate provides adequate mixing. Connect to inert gas from hood or stand-alone tank. Purge 5 minutes. Continue flow or inert gas for remainder of set up.

All chemicals come preweighed to unique kit specifications. Gather required kit components depending upon your desired configuration.

During purging, weigh substrates according to recipe provided at Aldrich.com/KitAlysis.

Crack required ampules and quickly transfer to lower Inertion Box holes.

Load vials with your weighed substrate into center holes on right and left side of Inertion Box.

Microvials contain preweighed catalysts and stir bars. Leave cap map in place until ready to dose stock solutions.

Purge an additional 5 minutes. Continue flow of inert gas for remainder of set up.

Step 1: Make stock solutions

  • Quickly purge all dosing tools inside Inertion Box before use.
  • Use a new syringe for each solvent.
  • Carefully remove cap map.
  • Stir briefly to allow substrate mixtures to go into solution.
  • Leave stirring on while pulling aliquots.
  • Never use heat under Inertion Box.
  • Degas pipette tips inside Inertion Box prior to dosing substrate mixtures.

Step 2: Aliquot according to recipe calculation

For slurry substrate mixtures:

  1. Cut off end of tip for larger opening.
  2. Ensure good stirring while pulling aliquots.

If you have a liquid base (or substrate), aliquot it as the final step..

Step 3: Seal the Reaction Block and Heat

  • Using two fingers, apply even pressure on the lid as you tighten the screws
  • Follow pattern to ensure a good seal
  • Tighten until screw head is flush with top of lid
  • Repeat until screwdriver “torques”
  • Heat at requisite temperature on preheated hot plate outside of Inertion Box

Step 4: Cool, add work-up solution, and analyze

Step 5: Scale-up reactions with provided protocol
