Whatman® Air Monitoring Products

Whatman Air Monitoring and Analysis products include the following ranges:

High-purity quartz (SiO2) microfiber filters are used for air sampling in acidic gases, stacks, flues and aerosols, particularly at high temperatures up to 500 °C and in PM-10 testing. QM-A grade is sequentially numbered according to EPA standards, is suitable for most applications, Grade 934-AH fine particle retention filter and grade GF/A.

High-purity glass microfiber thimbles manufactured from 100% pure borosilicate glass are completely free of binders or additives and can be used at temperatures up to 500 °C or when using solvents incompatible with cellulose thimbles. These thimbles are also used in pollution monitoring techniques (0.8 μm nominal particle retention).

Quartz Microfiber Thimbles made from high purity quartz microfiber, this thimble is able to withstand high temperatures (up to 1000 °C). Suitable for both solvent extraction and air sampling applications.

Whatman Cyclopore membranes are manufactured from a pure polymeric film using proprietary Whatman technology to produce a precision membrane filter with a closely controlled pore size distribution. They are free of contaminants and have very low levels of nonspecific protein binding making them idea for trace element and particulate analysis in air monitoring.

Removal and quantification of aerosols can be done using Whatman glass microfibre and membrane products. Typically, Whatman products are used in air monitoring cassettes or continuous monitoring devices.

The easy-to-use VACU-GUARD and HEPA-CAP inline filter devices filter and contain particles from gas lines protecting vacuum pumps / laboratory environment.
