Sigma-Aldrich is pleased to offer these easy-to-use spectral library software programs that are more powerful than a printed book, allowing text and data field searching and the manipulation, printing, and exporting of spectra from the following spectral library types: ATR-IR, FT-IR, FT-NMR as well as optical and mass spectral libraries.
The Aldrich Spectral Viewer is an electronic reference book on CD-ROM that contains thousands of spectra from the Aldrich spectral libraries. This easy-to-use software program is more powerful than a printed book, allowing text and data field searching and the manipulation, printing, and exporting of spectra. Currently, we offer one FT-IR library (over 11,000 compounds), two FT-NMR libraries (over 15,000 compounds), and one ATR-IR library (over 18,000 compounds) to suit your needs. The libraries can be used individually or can be combined to create a powerful, electronic reference. A single user interface handles IR, NMR, and ATR-IR spectra, simplifying the use of the software. In addition, the Spectral Viewer is expandable so that when new spectral libraries are released, they can be easily added to the software. A student/instructional version is also available with a limited library of FT-NMR, FT-IR, and ATR-IR spectra. The demonstration version is also available with a complete version of the software and a small demonstration database of FT-NMR, FT-IR, and ATR-IR spectra. For more information on a particular spectral library, please see the individual product listing.

The Aldrich/Smith′s Detection ATR-IR library contains high resolution spectra from the diamond ATR. With the diamond ATR there is no Nujol or KBr interference, therefore providing the highest quality spectra. The ATR offers a very short pathlength making it ideal for highly absorbent materials.
• Contains nearly 18,000 pure compunds of the most common chemicals found in the Aldrich Handbook • Spectra archived using 4 cm-1 resolution • Searchable by ATR and standard FT-IR spectra* • Frequency range: 650-4000 cm-1
*Transmission spectra are fundamentally different than ATR spectra and current software conversions have made them interchangeable, but the best method is to evaluate the reference data in the same method that the sample was analyzed.
The library includes these chemical categories: Aromatics Boranes Deuterated compounds Heterocycles Indicators & Dyes Minerals & Buffers Non-aromatics Organometallics Polymers Steroids
Includes more than 1,750 spectra of polymers, plastics and additives for polymers, rubbers, cosmetics, adhesives, sealants, and plastics. Sequential index includes: manufacturer, chemical name, CAS number, and more. Collected by Chemir/Polytech Laboratories and Dr. John Kokosa. Libraries may be used with OMNIC®, GRAMS®/32, or Spectral I.D.® (Z407488) and are supplied on CD-ROM. Libraries are in deresolved format and contain spectra at 16 cm-1 resolution by 8-bit ordinate precision. • Contain spectral data from 4,000 to 450 cm-1 • Best used when searching compounds with significant spectral differences • Generally not suitable when using spectral subtraction or other precision spectral identification techniques

The collection contains the most common chemicals found in the Aldrich Handbook, many of which are pure organic compounds, and includes the New Second edition of the Aldrich Library of FT-IR Spectra (3-volume set). All spectra were acquired and examined by Aldrich and then re-examined and processed by Nicolet. This is the largest collection of spectra collected entirely by FT-IR instrumentation.

Includes 667 spectra of commercial materials with frangrance- or flavor-enhancing properties. All spectra are on the GRAS (Generally Recognized As Safe) list of U.S. government-approved foods. Most spectra were collected by Aldrich using a GC interface to reduce contamination and decomposition. Libraries may be used with OMNIC®, GRAMS®/32, or Spectral I.D.® (Z407488) and are supplied on CD-ROM. A Nicolet Raman 950 spectrometer (with a germanium detector) was used to collect the Raman spectra. The spectra were then saved in Raman Shift format. All of the spectra were originally measured at 2cm-1 resolution and then deresolved during conversion to the library format. The OMNIC version can be used in place of the old GALACTIC version.
Contains 5,010 gas phase spectra collected by Aldrich using a GC interface to ensure chromatographically pure samples. The GC interface reduces the sample decomposition common when vapor phase spectra are obtained in a conventional gas cell. Libraries may be used with OMNIC®, GRAMS®/32, or Spectral I.D.® (Z407488) and are supplied on CD-ROM. A spectral collection of 10,411 of the most common chemicals found in the Sigma Chemical catalog representing a wide range of chemical classes of particular interest to those in biochemical research or QC. Libraries may be used with OMNIC®, GRAMS®/32, or Spectral I.D.® (Z407488) and are supplied on CD-ROM. Spectral I.D. is Galactic′s 32-bit search software package for optical and mass spectral libraries. Spectral I.D. supports the most popular commercial libraries including Aldrich, Nicolet®-Aldrich, Chemical Concepts, and others. Users can search multiple libraries of different ranges and resolutions and even save favorite sets of libraries for future searches. Spectral I.D. offers seven industry-standard full spectrum search algorithms including: Correlation 1st Derivative Correlation Euclidean Absolute Value 1st Derivative Absolute Value Least Squares 1st Derivative Least Squares
The full spectrum, peak, or text searching methods can be used alone or in combination to optimize search results. In addition to supporting the most popular commercial libraries, Spectral ID's powerful Library Manager lets you quickly and easily define and populate your own custom libraries. Libraries can be created at any spectral range or resolution and can be stored in 8-bit precision for rapid search or 16 or 32-bit precision for accurate spectral viewing and more demanding search applications. Virtually any optical data type can be used to construct libraries including IR, Raman, UV-Vis, and more.
Features: • Unsurpassed full spectrum search speeds of over 4,000 compounds per second • Supports multiple search types including text information, peak, and full spectrum with the highly accurate correlation search • Mask out multiple regions of spectrum to exclude during search • Search mixtures and automatically subtract and research your results • Create custom libraries that include any spectral range, unit type, or resolution
