Firefly luciferase is used analytically to measure very small quantities (down to femptomoles) of ATP. Our BioUltra enzyme is at least 98% pure, after chromatography and crystallization. Endogenous ATPase and nucleoside diphosphokinase, both interfering activities, have been nearly eliminated. We also offer a partially purified luciferase from the bioluminescent Photobacterium fischeri. When this bacterial luciferase oxidizes reduced flavin mononucleotide (FMN) in the presence of a fatty aldehyde, blue-green light is emitted. Our extract contains NADH- and NADPH-dependent FMN reductases and can be used as a coupled system to measure NADH or NADPH.
