The study of the proteosome is a rapidly evolving field that frequently requires dissection of structural proteins, enzymes and cell signaling molecules into functional or structural domains involving relatively short amino acid sequences. Very often these peptides (haptens) are not immunogenic unless they are conjugated to larger molecules such as bovine serum albumin (BSA) or keyhole limpet hemocyanin (KLH). that contain maleimide activated BSA and KLH which support the induction of immunogenicity of small sulfhydryl containing haptens.
Sigma provides antibody kits to facilitate purification of polyclonal and monoclonal antibodies and epitope-tagged proteins (FLAG tagged). These kits utilize the antibody binding features of protein A to facilitate antibody purification from serum, ascites or cell culture supernatants and protein G for purification of antibodies immunoprecipitated (IP) from complex cell lysates. FLAG tagged proteins are recovered using a high affinity ANTI-FLAG M2 antibody agarose matrix.
