Aquaporin Channel Structure

  1. Aquaporins consist of six membrane-spanning segments arranged in two hemipores, which fold together to form the hourglass-shaped channel
  2. The highly conserved NPA motifs are also shown and may form a size-exclusion pore, giving the channel its high sensitivity
