Calcium Channel Structure

The α1 subunit is comprised of four homologous domains, each of which contains six transmembrane helices. The β subunit is intracellular and associates with the α1 subunit. The γ subunit is a glycoprotein that possesses four transmembrane segments. The α2 subunit is extracellular, highly glycosylated and associates with the membrane spanning δ subunit via disulfide bonds.
