Biological Buffers

AMPSO

Synonym: N-(1,1-Dimethyl-2-hydroxyethyl)-3-amino-2-hydroxypropanesulfonic acid

AMPSO is used as a buffer for PCR amplification2. Also, due to its higher alkalinity, it allows for the almost complete transfer of strongly basic proteins from gels to nitrocellulose without lowering the transfer efficiency for other proteins1.
Useful pH Range 8.3 - 9.7
Working concentration range 100mM4
