Can plasmid shRNA deliver stable gene silencing?
Why would I use the purified plasmid DNA format?
Can plasmid shRNA deliver stable gene silencing?
The efficiency of transduction of lentivirus is much higher for stable expression, but plasmid-based transfections will also work. That said, in the specific case of the liver, stable transduction of a small population can be achieved through hydrodynamic delivery of plasmid DNA.1

Why would I use the purified plasmid DNA format?
The DNA format (1 µg) is ideal for doing small transfections in 96-well plates (with replicates) or for small-scale packaging co-tranfections. Plasmid purification is a costly and time-consuming step that is eliminated with this product format.
