Cell Detachment

Select the ideal enzyme for your cell detachment or tissue dissociation needs with these helpful links. Learn about the factors that influence your tissue digestion-dissociation and discover optimal conditions for working with these enzymes.

Collagenase
Because of its unique ability to hydrolyze native collagen, it is widely used to isolate cells from animal tissue.

Hyaluronidase
Catalyzes the random hydrolysis of
1,4-β-D-glycosidic linkages.

Papain
Relatively nonspecific sulfhydryl protease that can be used alone for dissociation.

Elastase
Useful for the dissociation of tissues containing higher amounts of elastin.

DNase
Reduces viscosity from DNA released from damaged cells during harvesting.

Protease Type XIV
Extremely nonspecific protease for dissociation of various tissues.

Trypsin
Serine protease commonly used for cell detachment and tissue dissociation.
