Styrene and Functionalized Styrene Monomers

Styrenics are used to make a variety of copolymers used in coatings, adhesives, elastomers, and structural materials. A large variety of available substituted styrenic monomers allows the incorporation of specific functional groups into polymers. Styrene is unique in that it is one of the few monomers that undergoes polymerization by a radical, cationic, or anionic mechanism.
