Sodium carboxylate is an anionic surface group. PAMAM dendrimers with sodium carboxylate surfaces exhibit higher solubility in polar and aqueous solvents. These dendrimers will be particularly useful where specific charge or sodium salt nature of the surface functional group is beneficial for applications.
