Ru(d8-bipy3)PF6 is known to be an excellent candidate for emissive materials in organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) and organic light-emitting electrochemical cells (OLEC) for sensor applications1. Quantum efficiencies of these materials are in the range of 1.2-1.5%. Scientists at Sigma-Aldrich® are aware of the improvement in emission lifetimes of triplet emitting compounds by deuterating the organic ligand. The deuterated material shows a 20-25% increase in emission lifetime compared to the undeuterated material as shown below2. We think that you will find our newest material Ru(d8-bipy3)PF6 will improve your sensor efficiency.
